Event Overview:
The Writers’ and Artists’ Collaborative Weekend is a two-day event that brings together writers, visual artists, and book creators to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Hosted by CHAPEAU DE ZINC ET BOTTE DE CUIVRE, the event encourages participants to create integrated works of art that combine writing, illustration, and design. Through hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, and guided collaborative exercises, attendees will explore the relationship between text and imagery, develop unique projects, and gain insight into the creative process from multiple perspectives.
Program Schedule and Activities:
Day 1 – Inspiration and Creation:
- 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Registration and Welcome
Participants are greeted by the event coordinators, who provide an overview of the program and introduce the goals of interdisciplinary collaboration. Attendees receive materials and guidance for the day’s activities. - 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Creative Writing Session
Writers will engage in exercises to develop narratives, poetry, and conceptual text pieces. Visual artists are encouraged to observe the process and explore ways to visually interpret or complement the written material. Guidance from facilitators ensures that participants remain focused while exploring their creative instincts. - 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Visual Interpretation Workshop
Artists and writers collaborate in small groups to create visual representations of the texts developed in the morning. Techniques may include illustration, mixed media, collage, and experimental printmaking. This session emphasizes dialogue between creators, encouraging creative experimentation and iterative feedback.
Day 2 – Integration and Presentation:
- 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Collaborative Bookmaking
Participants combine their written and visual works into small book projects or artistic publications. They learn techniques for layout, binding, and integrating text with imagery, guided by experienced facilitators. Each group works toward creating a cohesive, collaborative product. - 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Project Refinement
Attendees finalize their collaborative projects, adding finishing touches, annotations, and artistic elements. Facilitators assist with design decisions, technique adjustments, and presentation strategies. - 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Showcase and Reflection
The event concludes with a public showcase of all collaborative works. Participants present their projects to the group, discuss their creative process, and reflect on lessons learned. The session promotes critical thinking, mutual inspiration, and appreciation for interdisciplinary creativity.

This event is free and open to artists, writers, and book creators of all skill levels. All materials are provided by the association, and participants are encouraged to bring personal ideas, sketches, or texts to incorporate into their collaborative works.
